3 Ways CBD Help With Heart Disease

Heart disease or cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death globally.  About 17.9 million people died from CVD in 2019.  To get the picture, death by heart disease makes up 39% of all deaths and from that 85% died from heart attacks and stroke.

One person dies from cardiovascular disease in the U.S. every 34 seconds.  In 2020 1 out of 5 death is a result from heart disease.  Most cardiovascular disease can be prevented by understanding the risk factors like: unhealthy diet, smoking, alcohol and insufficient physical activity.  It's important to detect and manage heart disease as soon as possible by consulting with your medical provider.

CBD does not directly work with the heart and cardiovascular system, but it has positive effects on the endocannabinoid system in your body.  When CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system the interaction will benefit heart disease.

Researchers have found that CBD has similar traits with the endocannabinoid system.  Together they help to boost appetite, improve sleep, mood, behavior, immune system, they also help to reduce stress and anxiety.  Endocannabinoid system's main goal is to bring homeostasis-a balance to your body to promote harmony with your health and mind.

Studies are showing the benefits of CBD on heart patients.  Remember more research are needed, but there are three ways that CBD can help with heart disease: heart arrhythmia, lower blood pressure and reducing inflammation.

Heart Arrhythmia: is a condition where the heartbeats irregularly.  When this happen the heart can beat faster, slower or irregularly.  Sometimes it can be harmless while in other cases it can be life threatening.  A study on lab rats have showed that CBD can help protect the heart by lowering ventricular arrhythmia.

Lower Blood Pressure: high blood pressure is a threat to the heart and other major organs in your body.  Hypertension or high blood pressure can narrow narrow or destroy arteries.  High blood pressure can cause aneurysm which if it erupts it can result in internal bleeding and be life threatening.  High blood pressure can cause enlargement of the heart, forcing the heart to work harder and may lead to heart attack.  Heart failure and coronary artery disease is a risk from high blood pressure.  A study in 2017 with human subjects showed that CBD can lower blood pressure by widening blood vessels and allowing blood to flow easier.

Reducing Inflammation: it is already known that CBD can help with inflammation especially with inflammation-causing illness like multiple sclerosis and arthritis.  A report from the Imperial College of London pointed out that CBD has a higher anti-inflammatory properties higher than any antioxidants, Omega-3 or vitamin C.  In the study mice were given CBD for their inflammation and found that inflammations were reduced by 50%

We need more scientific data and research on how CBD can benefit humans.  We need to know more of it's potential and how it can benefit us and at the same time the risk involved with CBD.  Consult your health provider if you are thinking of using CBD for your health.  Discuss on how and which way is the best way to use CBD for your heart and well-being.  Do take now that CBD may interact with other medications and cause the medication to not work properly.
