This is a real life experience of a boy named, Lachie Love and his battle with brain tumor. Lachie was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) in December 2022.
Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is a highly aggressive brain tumor cancer and very difficult to treat. It happens in the lowest part of the brain called the pons. They control essential functions like blood pressure, heart rate and breathing. DIPG progresses rapidly making the brain tumor very difficult to treat. Around 300 children are diagnosed with DIPG every year in the US. The brain tumor is often diagnosed in both males and females within the age of 5-9.
The sad fact about being diagnosed with this kind of brain tumor is that the life expectancy of children is around 9 months. After Lachie was diagnosed with cancer both parents and doctors were expecting the tumor to not shrink. But miraculously the tumors shrunk despite all odds.
His parents shared that after radiation treatment was over, Lachie was only on natural supplements. He takes 10 pills in the morning and 8 in the evening including CBD Oil, fish oil, melatonin, turmeric and ground sea cucumber.
Six months after radiation therapy was over and after taking natural supplements the results were a complete turnaround.
Family members couldn't stop thinking that the time for saying goodbye was near and doctors wanted the family to hope for the best and prepare themselves if things become worse.
During the radiation therapy their son was in a wheelchair unable to walk or talk. He was completely dependent on his family for everything. It was completely normal for their parents to wonder how long they had until they had to say goodbye to their own son.

Living with this illness is not only physically and emotionally challenging, but it is also financially straining.
